Training workshops on violence against women

North West Health Improvement Team in partnership with the Women’s Support Project are running a series of Violence Against Women and Children training sessions.

These FREE half day sessions are open to anyone working in the North West of the City and will be of interest to a range of services, including health visiting, homelessness, mental health, education, refugee and asylum support.

Domestic Abuse and Coercive Control
This half day session will provide an update on domestic abuse, including coercive control, latest statistics on extent of the problem, good practice in responding and services and resources.  Training to be held on: Tuesday 23rd January 2018, 9:30am – 12:30pm, Heart of Scotstoun.

Raising awareness about Female Genital Mutilation (FGM)
Discussion will include definitions, motivations, legislation, why it is an issue for services in Glasgow, risk assessment and services and resources. Training to be held on: Monday 5th February 2018, 9:30am – 12:30pm, Heart of Scotstoun.
