Womens Support Project

6th February

We can all help to raise awareness about Female Genital Mutilation, and so help to end this harmful traditional practice.

The website www.fgmaware.org provides key facts on FGM.  Essential reading, information leaflets and resources to support training and public education can be viewed and downloaded.

Sara’s Story is a short animated film that aims to raise awareness of FGM, why it is carried out, and how it can affect girls and women.

The film is based on real-life accounts by women survivors of FGM and is designed for use in training and public education work. The film does not include any  real life images of FGM. Sara’s Story is available to view on the FGM Aware website.
