Male Violence Against Women Survey - 2008

The Women’s Support Project carried out this survey in Glasgow in 2007.
The aim of the survey was to capture a ‘snapshot’ of people’s understanding of what is meant by violence against women and what causes violence against women, as well as their views on which issues around male violence against women are of most concern and what should be done about such violence. Four questions were asked and people could provide more than one response to each question.
Completed surveys were collected in two ways:
- approaching members of the public, e.g. in shopping centres, leisure centres and at railway stations.
- approaching participants at training and events, such as training organised by the Women’s Support Project and the Greater Glasgow Training Consortium. Most participants were attending in a work capacity, representing organisations such as homelessness, addiction, health, social work, addictions, criminal justice.
