Support and Information
We offer a telephone support and information service, covering a broad range of issues: support for women whose children have been sexually abused, support for adult survivors of child sexual abuse and incest, prostitution and other forms of commercial sexual exploitation. The support service is aimed at people living or working in Glasgow.
We prioritise support and advocacy for women whose children have been sexually abused or sexually exploited, or where there is risk of abuse or exploitation. This is a flexible service, ranging from provision of information, intensive crisis support, ongoing telephone or face-to-face support, and long-term support. We may be able to put women in touch with another woman who has gone through a similar experience, for mutual support.
The telephone support and information line is available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10am – 4.30pm and on Wednesday from 2pm – 4.30pm. This service offers short-term support and information to women who have been affected by male violence, and to family members, friends and supporters. We can provide information on specialist or local support services, and make referrals as appropriate. We can provide access to written resources.
We can offer up to three face-to-face support appointments if the caller is distressed and it is not possible to resolve the issue or to identify an appropriate source of support on the telephone, or if there are concerns about the safety and wellbeing of a child or a vulnerable adult.
How to contact us
You can contact us by telephone, email or letter. Please note that we are not able to provide a drop in service.
We prefer self-referral, although we will accept referrals from any agency providing that the woman concerned has given her permission.
We do not operate a waiting list and under normal circumstances aim to offer support appointments within ten working days.
